On November 19, the launching ceremony of the Chinese culture lecture hall was held in overseas student study center. Liu Jinlan, the Party Branch Secretary of the International School, supervisors of the lecture hall, and overseas students from different countries attended the ceremony.

Liu Jinlan pointed out in her speech that, the Chinese culture has a profound influence in the worldwide, winning the love and attention from an increasing number of foreign friends. The education of overseas students at UIBE dates back more than 60 years ago, has fostered over 25,000 students of all kinds, and plays an active role in the communication of politics, economics, culture and education between China and foreign countries. Throughout the years, UIBE has consistently adhered to a philosophy that is centered on education quality and oriented by students' needs. UIBE has focused on building the core competiveness of overseas student education, enhanced the comprehensive quality of overseas students through extracurricular courses, and in the meantime, helped excellent students walk out of the campus and show their skills on a broader stage. The lecture hall aims at offering an opportunity to learn more about Chinese culture for overseas students. For this purpose, the International School invited some teachers who have high qualifications and influence in terms of traditional martial arts, calligraphy and Chinese painting to instruct overseas students. Henceforth, more societies and associations will be established according to students' majors, interests and hobbies, thus enriching their cultural life in spare time.

Afterwards, Liu Jinlan issued the letters of appointment to the supervisor for Martial Arts Association -Zhang Xuguang(the originator of nine-style Taiji gymnastics), the supervisors for Painting and Calligraphy Association - Liu Yongge ( a famous Chinese painting and calligraphy artist) and Liu Zongshi (national level-1 artist), as well as the supervisor for Kongdong Association -Bai Yihai (the 11th-generation head of Kongdong Budo, and also the chairman of Chinese Kongdong Budo Alliance).
