Customs management seminar concludes at UIBE

Entrusted by the Ministry of Commerce, UIBE hosted the "Seminar on Customs Management for African French-Speaking Countries," a national foreign assistance program sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce. In total 22 customs officials from Algeria, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Comoros, Cote d'Ivoire, Djibouti, Madagascar, Nepal, Chad participated in the 21-day seminar.

The Pro-Vice-Chancellor of UIBE, Lin Guijun, the Deputy Director of General Administration of Customs Training Center, Wang Donghong, and the Director of Further Education College, Zeng Gang, attended at the opening ceremony held at UIBE. Lin introduced the history, the development of various disciplines taught at UIBE, as well as its international characteristics, and spoke highly about the relationship and prospects of cooperation between China and African countries. Appreciating the high quality of the national foreign assistance program of UIBE, Wang hoped that the participants could learn about Chinese management customs and its future direction through the seminar. On behalf of all participants, Ms Blanche from Cameroon gave her thanks for the warm welcoming and arrangements made by UIBE.

Supported by the General Administration of Customs, the Further Education College made a thoughtful arrangement with the theme of Custom Management. The activities include visiting the National Information Center of the Customs General Administration, China Customs Museum, Fuzhou Customs, Fujian Chunlun Tea Group, Halaoda Food Company and Beijing Hyundai Motor Company and other places.

On the November 11, the team of Seminar visited the National Information Center of the Customs General Administration, and China Customs Museum, communicating with the Deputy Director of the National Information Center of the Customs General Administration. They also learned about the history and current condition of Chinese customs in the China Customs Museum.

The team went to Fuzhou Customs, the Mawei Customs Inspection Building, the headquarters of the Fuzhou Customs Administrative Center and its history museum. Wu Youyi, the Director of Fuzhou Customs, talked about the current conditions and business reforms with team members. Pan Lichun, the head of Customs Free Trade Team, introduced the basic information of Fujian Free Trade Experimental Area and service of Fuzhou Customs. In addition, the team went to Pingtan Office of Fuzhou Customs, visiting its Second Pass, Aoqian Pier and Duitai Small Trade Market.

On November 16, the team visited the Halaoda Food Limited and Putian Craft Art City of Fujian, learning the development status quo of food processing enterprises in China.

On November 25, the closing ceremony of the Seminar on Customs Management for African French-speaking Countries was held at UIBE. The Seminar was highly praised by the Ministry of Commerce and the participants. Further Education College will reinforce the cooperation relationship with the Ministry of Commerce. By improving the quality of teachers and courses, the training service for international business officials will increase their skills and expertise and the international influence of UIBE will deepen.
