Foreign idols competition hosted at UIBE
2016-05-06 04:43:00

On May 6, 2016, the 7th Foreign Idols Competition was hosted at UIBE. Dozens of competitors from seven universities, including Renmin University of China, Beijing Language and Culture University, Beijing Foreign Studies University and China University of Political Science and Law, China Youth University for Political Sciences, Central University for Nationalities and UIBE, demonstrated their skills on stage.

The judges of competition were Ding Guangquan, an established cross talk artist, Jie Gai, a Cameroon mathematician and cross talk actor, and Ning Feng, a singer and actress. The Vice President of UIBE, Zhao Zhongxiu, and Han Weichunand, the Director of School of International Education also attended this competition. This competition was also reported by China Daily and Beijing TV Station.

Vice President Zhao introduced the competition. He said competitors of 2016 Foreign Idols Competition were selected from 3,200 international students from over 140 countries. He encouraged the students "I believe I can fly. Let's see what we can do."

The competition opened with the dance of the champion team of last year. Their vibrant dance reflected the theme of the game. Although we have different skin colors, we share the same color of youthfulness.

What surprised us is that the participants of Foreign Idol Competition could speak Chinese fluently. The two comperes, British Chinese William and Tang from America, chatted with each other in Chinese in the beginning of the game. The brilliant program of Ding Guangquan, a master artist, and Jie Gai, a Cameroon cross talk actor, won the appreciation of the audience.

The competition was sponsored by the School of International Education, and hosted by the International Students Union.
