Report on Chinese Multinational Companies (2015) launched at UIBE

The Global Industry Chain Seminar and Launch Ceremony of the First China's Report on Chinese Multinational Companies (2015) was held at UIBE on April 9, 2016. This report, edited by Lu Jinyong, Li Jianming, Yang Li, is the product of research conducted by School of International Trade and Economic at UIBE. The Director of the School Hong Junjie hosted the launch event.

The attendants also included Lin Guijun, the Vice President of UIBE; Yi Xingfa, the President of UIBE Press; Wang Huiyang, the Director of China and Globalization Think-tank and Consultant of the State Council; Cheng Jianming, the Chief Trade Expert of Huawei Company.

Vice President Lin gave a brief historical overview of Chinese multinational companies. Extolling the academic value of this report, he encouraged the research team to publish more high-quality papers and reports. Next, Professor Lu Jinyong, the Director of FDI Study Center of UIBE, explicated the main ideas and content of this report. He said that this report contains the theory, policies and practice on the development of Chinese multinational companies, as well as the latest views of experts in this field.

After this event, the experts and entrepreneurs discussed how to built a China-led global chain.

Researcher Huo Jianguo said that Chinese companies could enter moderate-and-high ends of industry through overseas acquisition. However, we should be aware of the risks. Professor Hong Junjie concluded the traits of Chinese companies buying overseas. He said we should make our own rules, and promote the relative negotiation on rule making as early as possible.
