UIBE, University of St. Gallen ink deal on research center
On May 13, 2017, UIBE President Wang Jiaqiong and his delegation met Prof. Thomas Bieger, President of St. Gallen University for the signing of an agreement establishinfg a China-Switzerland economic and trade research center.
Ms. Doris Leuthard, President of the Swiss Confederation, Gen Wenbing, China's ambassador to Switzerland and Jean-Jacques de Dardel, Swiss Ambassador to China, attended the ceremony.
The business school of St. Gallen University is ranked the top three in Europe. The signing is an important cooperation between two sides and a step-up for internationalization level under the national plan of building world-class universities with first-class disciplines. Further collaboration of the two will involve international organization talents training, joint research and think tank construction.
Mr. Stefan Kölliker, Education Minister of St. Gallen, Prof. Thomas Bieger, President of St. Gallen University and Prof. Winfried Ruigrok, Dean of the St. Gallen Business School, Zhao Zhongxiu, Vice President of UIBE, Tu Xinquan, Director of the China Institute for WTO Studies, and Li Xiaomeng, Vice Director of UIBE Department of International Relations also attended the signing ceremony.
