The University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) was conferred a title of "Model University for Talent Development Cooperation with Lujiazui Financial City in 2017" by a seminar on talent development co-hosted by China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone's Lujiazui Committee and Lujiazui Financial City Management Committee in Shanghai on Dec 22, 2017.

Following the Ministry of Education's requirements, UIBE has been actively taking part in the construction of cross-regional, cross-industrial and cross-sector recruitment information service platforms as well as organizing small- and medium-sized campus recruitment activities tailor-made for employers of different levels, sectors and industries, in a bid to help the graduates find jobs.

Working together with Lujiazui Financial City, the University has staged job fairs exclusively for employers from the core zone of the financial center in Shanghai for two consecutive years, attracting a total of over 1,000 students.

A UIBE delegation, led by Xu Song, director of the university's career service center, visited the Lujiazui Financial City on Dec 13, 2017, and met with staff from the human resource departments of the Construction Bank of China and the Bank of Communications, to find out the latest requirements.

The Shanghai Lujiazui Financial Trade Zone is the only national-level development zone carrying the term"financial trade" in its name, and has the most developed financial market system, financial infrastructure facilities and financial ecological environment in China. The zone offers an important platform for the establishing of financial agencies, the clustering of financial talents and financial transactions.

As a core functional zone of Shanghai's international financial center, Lujiazui is home to more than 30,000 enterprises, among which about 5,000 are financial institutions. (Li Yang)
