Professor Dr. Noor Azizi Ismail, vice-chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), led a delegation to visit the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) in Beijing on Feb. 25, 2019.
UIBE party chief Jiang Qingzhe met Dr. Ismail. They signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) of academic cooperation.
UIBE has attached great importance to the cooperation and exchange with universities in Malaysia, Jiang said. The two sides could start with student exchanges and visits in areas of common interest and gradually expand their ties in various other aspects.
This year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Malaysia.
Enjoying a traditional friendship with China, Malaysia is an important part for the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in South Asia.
UMK's vice chancellor said his university has underlined the importance of cultural exchanges and cooperation with China and hoped to take the opportunity to enhance cooperation with UIBE.
