The 2019 board meeting of the Victoria Business Confucius Institute (VBCI) - Victoria University in Australia was held at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) in Beijing on Oct. 17.
UIBE President Xia Wenbin highly acknowledged the achievements of the VBCI since its launch in 2015. He said that the UIBE would continue to support the development of the VBCI, aiming to promote the Chinese language and also to build a platform for cooperation between the two universities, creating broader and deeper cooperation in areas such as student cultivation, teacher exchanges and scientific research.
Professor Peter Dawkins, president of Victoria University, said the two universities had become close partners with the development of the VBCI, which was playing an important role in facilitating trade and economic relations and people-to-people exchanges between Australia and China through its business Chinese courses and training courses for business associations. Professor Dawkins also said he was looking forward to more cooperation between the two universities.
The work report of the VBCI for the year 2018 was delivered in the meeting, and its plan for the next year was discussed.
