Introduction
      Research Center for China Energy and Environment, UIBE was founded in 2012 and its predecessor is the Center for Global New Energy Strategy Studies. Its purposes are to follow the trend of energy, environment, and climate change that influence specific regions and the world, to carry out research on energy and environment development and policies, energy conservation, environmental protection, low-carbon economy, new energy, climate change, and regional energy and environment, and to offer consulting suggestions for the enactment of national policies concerning energy, environment and climate change. The Center aims to promote and deepen exchanges, coordination and cooperation between China and other countries and regions in the fields of energy, environment and climate change. Through holding or organizing China Energy and Environment Summit, the Center provides a high-level dialogue platform for governments, businesses, and scholars to discuss environment, energy, climate change and other issues. In this way, all sectors of society can have a better understanding of the problems and trend of energy, environment, and climate change issues in China as well as policy orientations, and international cooperation in this field can be promoted.

 

Fields of Study 
      (1) Following the trend of energy, environment, and climate change that influence specific regions and the globe, carrying out research on energy and environment development and policy, energy conservation, environmental protection, low-carbon economy, new energy, climate change, and industrial and regional energy and environment;
      (2) Organizing China Energy and Environment Summit, holding annual conferences, seminars, and other academic symposiums to analyze and predict the trend of China’s energy supply and demand, environment and climate change, and to discuss the financing in diversified energies, alternative energy, energy conservation and environmental protection;
      (3) Providing reasonable policy suggestions for national departments of energy, environment, and climate change, releasing annual reports on China’s energy and environment;
      (4) Independently or collectively holding various activities in the form of training, conferences, exhibitions, information exchanges, and energy and environment assessment to help achieve its purposes;
      (5) Establishing a worldwide network and information exchange center to strengthen the connection among domestic and foreign governments, businesses, and academia, thus enhancing international economic and technological cooperation in energy, environment and climate change.
