The UIBE's 12th conference for CPC deputies was convened on Monday, Jan. 15, in Beijing.

With the theme of undertaking a comprehensive implementation of the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress, and accelerating the program to be ranked among world－class universities with world－class academic subjects (Double World Class), the meeting deliberated on the Work Report of the CPC Discipline Inspection Committee of the UIBE and the Report on the Collection, Use and Management of Party Membership Dues.

UIBE Party Chief Jiang Qingzhe delivered a report entitled: "To comprehensively implement the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and start a new journey of building UIBE into a world－class university with a group of open economics subjects." The report presented a five－year goal for the UIBE and also set the major tasks of Party construction in the university.

In his opening speech, the chair, Wang Jiaqiong, who is also President of the UIBE, said the meeting was being held at a crucial time when the university was undertaking reform and development, with new missions that give full play to its advantages in disciplines and talents.

Zhang Guohui, deputy inspector of the Department of Personnel of the Ministry of Education, and Zheng Jichun, executive deputy secretary of Beijing Municipal Party Committee of Education, were among those attending the meeting.

Zhang extended his warm congratulations upon the opening of the meeting. He also gave full credit to the achievements and contributions to national development made by UIBE in the past seven years.

Zheng hoped the new Party committee of the UIBE to be elected during the meeting would comprehensively strengthen Party construction in the university and make more contributions to capital construction and coordinated development for the Beijing－Tianjin－Hebei region.
