South-South cooperation seminar held in UIBE

A seminar on China and South-South cooperation hosted by the International Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee was staged in the University of International Business and Economics from Jan 31 to Feb 1.

 

 

The seminar was attended by more than 60 members of the Chinese council for think tank cooperation among BRICS countries, which was founded on Jan 11, 2017 and over 30 experts in related fields.
 

 
The council should always bear in mind its primary task is to provide BRICS cooperation with quality researches. The members should make use of their respective strengths and engage more in innovative practical solution-oriented researches, said Guo Yezhou, deputy head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee during the seminar.


 

Deepening South-South cooperation is important to the construction of the community of shared future for humankind. China has actively supported the South-South cooperation and provided vitality and driving force for the cooperation through carrying out the Belt and Road Initiative, said Jiang Qingzhe, UIBE Party secretary.


 
Wang Jiaqiong, UIBE president, points out that the UIBE, with applied economics as its first-class discipline, has some characteristic and advantageous programs including international law, business management and accountancy.


 

The Center for BRICS Countries Studies is an important institute on regional research of the UIBE and has taken part in the drafting of the council’s reports and documents for years. The BRICS studies has become an important content for the UIBE’s construction of its first-class disciplines, and the university will cultivate more talents on BRICS researche and strengthen cooperation with other members of the council, echoed Zhao Zhongxiu, vice-president of UIBE and also vice-chairman of the council.


 

The UIBE has made achievements in talent cultivation, research and think tank construction, featuring strong characteristics and research power, said Guo.
 

 

He expressed his hope that the UIBE can further strengthen cooperation with the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, and make new progress in providing policy consultation and academic research. (Li Yang)
