Jiang Qingzhe visits Malaysia and Thailand

Jiang Qingzhe, party chief of University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), led a delegation to visit Malaysia and Thailand from Dec. 13 to 19, 2018 at the invitation of  educational institutions and universities in the two countries, including United Chinese School Committee's Association of Malaysia (Dong Zong), the country's New Era University College and the Panyapiwat Institute of Management and the Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University in Thailand.

The delegation met Hong Woan Ying, Dong Zong's chief executive officer. The two sides explored effective ways for the association to select and send Malaysian students to study in UIBE and reached consensus on launching UIBE's pre-university courses in high schools under the association.

 

On Dec. 14, the delegation visited the New Era University College in Malaysia. During a working conference, Jiang said UIBE, as a top university in China, was willing to help improve the quality and professionalism of teachers in the Malaysian institution. The two sides also explored possible joint cultivation projects and research topics.

The following day, the delegation met Mr. Khoo Sim Hee, who is in charge of the Open University Malaysia to exchange ideas on how to open schools overseas.

 

The delegation visited the Panyapiwat Institute of Management in Thailand on Dec. 17 for talks with senior management of the CP ALL, as well as Dr. Sompop Manarungsan, the institute's president. The two sides reached consensus on renewing their MOU and the student exchanges and joint cultivation projects under the framework agreement.

 

The delegation visited the Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University in Thailand on Dec. 18 and met its president, Dr. Supot Saikaew. The two sides have signed a memorandum for cooperation under which the Thai university is eagerly to implement various projects.

On Dec. 15, the delegation visited the Economic and Commercial Counselor's Office of the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia and met its economic and commercial counselor Shi Ziming. Jiang Qingzhe took the opportunity to conduct relevant research on Chinese enterprises in Malaysia and the country's education sector.

 

On Dec. 19, the delegation visited the Economic and Commercial Counselor's Office of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand. Jiang Qingzhe met Counselor Zhang Peidong to seek his views on local politics, business environment and educational policies, as well as discussing the possibility to conducting relevant research on the "Belt and Road" Initiative.
