The University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) launched the Argentine Studies Center on Monday, signaling the potential for deeper cooperation between China and Argentina.

More than 20 guests, including diplomats, experts and academics from China and Argentina, attended the launching ceremony.

Zhao Zhongxiu, president of the UIBE, said the center aims to become an important channel for Sino-Argentine academic exchanges, a think tank platform for economic and trade cooperation, and a bridge for cultural exchanges.

"With a pragmatic attitude and pioneering spirit, we will promote mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Argentina in more areas," Zhao said.

"We believe that with support and joint efforts, the center will certainly become a crucial force in promoting the comprehensive development of Sino-Argentina relations."

He indicated that the establishment of UIBE's Argentine Studies Center is an important step for the UIBE to deepen international research and cooperation, especially with Latin American countries.

Chinese ambassador to Argentina Wang Wei echoed that the establishment of the center will contribute to deepening China-Argentina research and exchanges in many fields, increasing mutual understanding between the people of the two countries, and fostering bilateral relations in a more stable and constructive way in a video message extending warm congratulations on the establishment.

Marcelo Gabriel Suárez Salvia, Argentine ambassador to China, pointed out that for decades, the relationship between Argentina and China has evolved towards a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership based on mutual respect, cooperation and shared interest in sustainable economic development.

The establishment of the center signifies the deepening and strengthening of friendly relations between the two countries, the ambassador said.

"Through intellectual exchanges and academic research, we will better understand the complexity and vast potential of bilateral relations, thereby promoting deeper and more practical cooperation between the two countries in various strategic fields," he added.
