On November 28, 2015, a grand inauguration ceremony of Chinese Asia-Pacific Economic and Cultural Research Center at UIBE was held at Meeting Hall for Board of Trustees, Ke Yan Building. The secretary of Central Social Management Innovation Research Center, He Juncheng, the Deputy Director of Chinese Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Center, Liang Jie, the Director of Planning Institute of Ministry of Agriculture, Liu Chaoliang, the President of Asia-Pacific Economic Information Investment Management Ltd, Cheng Jianjiang, the Party Secretary of UIBE, Wang Ling, the vice-president of UIBE, Zhao Zhongxiu, the Director of International Business Chinese Teaching and Resource Development Base, Han Hong, the Secretary-General of School Foundation, Zhang Rui, and representatives of different colleges and departments were invited to attend the ceremony, which was presided by Zhao Zhongxiu.

In order to implement the important national strategy of OBOR(One Belt, One Road), "Connectivity" and the construction of free trade in the Asia-Pacific, consolidate economic, technological, and cultural resources, and further promote the communication and cooperation between China and Asia-Pacific, UIBE and Chinese Asia-Pacific Economic Information Management Center cofounded the research center –– Chinese Asia-Pacific Economic and Cultural Research Centre ––, which aims to boost the synergy between national strategy and local development, enterprise development and industry consultation, talent demand and personnel training, economy and culture. The foundation of Chinese Asia-Pacific Economic and Cultural Research Center will largely promote the communication between governments and enterprises at home and abroad, and push forward the cooperative research between domestic and overseas academia, as well as build an open platform for all-round exchanges.

Wang Ling extended warm congratulations in her speech, and pointed out that, under the radical changes of international relations and security structure, the OBOR strategy put forward by Xi Jinping cannot be separated from cultural support, and the foundation of the Center further highlights its strategic significance and practical value. The stronger the approachability between nations of different languages and regions are, the faster they made progress, thus finally making progress by leaps and bounds. The foundation of the Center meets the demand of our talent training. During the process of cultivating international talents, UIBE pays attention to not only student's professional theory and vocational skills, but also their cultural edification. Future belongs to the youth, and this Center will build a communication and service platform of resources integration among governments, enterprises and universities for students. She stressed that the problems of the "going out" strategy for China's economy lie in not only technology level, but deeper cultural communication. With the development of mobile Internet technology, cultural diversities under economic globalization are unavoidable. Diverse cultural backgrounds require that we should respect different cultures of all nations, learn from each other and focus on mutual interaction rather than one-way instillation during exchanges. Therefore, the Center will play a significant role in cultivating diversified cross-culture communication professionals.

Liang Jie, the Deputy Director of Chinese Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Center, pointed out in his speech that, the Chinese Asia-Pacific Economic and Cultural Research Center at UIBE is a high-end think tank in the overall layout of national Asia-Pacific cooperation, acting as the bridge of politics and enterprises, and containing the functions of policy and strategy research, the output of high-quality think tank resources, as well as consulting and training. It is also an advisory Center for government decisions, and also a highly-efficient platform that features an organic combination of academics, scientific research and the market. He said that, the Center was founded after more than one year of preparation. During that time, a great number of projects and resources have been stored. The Center will lead to a healthy development of relevant industries, through the link of resources in policy, industry and academy, by virtue of the leading in projects, problems, experts and market demands. In terms of professional operation, we will, through special engagement, invite senior management, experts, officials and scholars in the fields of enterprise, international relations and so on to interact with us, so as to realize information connectivity and sharing, and promote an open, synergistic and innovative development of the Center.
