Wu Weixing, president of the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), met with Elisabetta Magnaghi, executive director of Paris-based École Supérieure du Commerce Extérieur (ESCE) International Business School, in Beijing Tuesday to discuss expanding cooperation in interdisciplinary programs and artificial intelligence (AI).

Wu welcomed the delegation and briefed them on UIBE's academic strengths and talent cultivation. He noted that AI is reshaping industries worldwide, underscoring the growing need for graduates to be equipped with both interdisciplinary knowledge and applied AI capabilities. UIBE is developing emerging majors such as digital trade, and advancing the integration of AI with economics, finance and management, he added.
Magnaghi outlined the ESCE's push into interdisciplinary development and dual-degree programs that combine business education with AI and engineering. She said these priorities align well with UIBE's academic strategy and expressed interest in launching new joint programs.
Professor Li Jianle of ESCE joined the delegation. Representatives from UIBE's Department of International Relations also attended the meeting.
