The 2020 Sino-British Lifestyle Week and the China-UK Business Forum kicked off at the British House in Beijing on Aug. 14.
Jin Hong, deputy director general of the Trade Development Bureau of China's Commerce Ministry, Tom Simpson, managing director of China operations of China-Britain Business Council, and Jin Xu, dean of School of International Development and Cooperation of the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) attended the event and delivered speeches at the event’s opening ceremony.
Aiming to promote the Chinese and British lifestyles, and to explore a shared new economic model after the COVID-19 pandemic, guests discussed how an enterprise should handle difficulties from the pandemic and how Chinese and British brands can expand market via livestreaming.
Professor Jin Xu said that both China and the UK provided favorable investment, regulatory and transport environment and the bilateral trade gained great support from the both governments. The former Chinese diplomat in the UK witnessed a lot of great cooperation and sound relationships between China and the UK. He believed China and the UK both have great expectations for cooperation.
The event is considered as a platform facilitating commerce and culture communication between China and UK.
