Pro. Peter Trubowitz and Pro. Catherine Boone from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) visited the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) for academic exchanges on April 23.
Secretary of the CPC Committee of the UIBE Huang Baoyin met with the LSE professors. Dean Wang Bo and vice dean Zhang Haisen of the School of International Development and Cooperation at the UIBE, and deputy director Huo Yuan of the university's International Cooperation and Exchange Department also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Huang warmly welcomed the LSE scholars, highlighting that both the UIBE and the LSE are leading institutions in social sciences in their respective countries with significant potential for collaboration. He emphasized the importance of enhancing academic exchanges, joint research efforts, talent development, and resource sharing between the two universities. Huang encouraged in-depth discussions between LSE professors and their UIBE counterparts to identify research areas of mutual interest and models for joint talent development for making impactful achievements on the international stage.
Pro. Trubowitz thanked the UIBE for the warm hospitality and praised its academic environment, faculty excellence, and the academic lectures organized by the School of International Development and Cooperation. Both sides explored opportunities for further cooperation, including expanding summer school programs, establishing joint master's and doctoral programs, and fostering deeper research partnerships among faculty members.
Following the meeting, the International Cooperation and Exchange Department, together with the School of International Development and Cooperation, engaged in detailed discussions with Pro. Trubowitz to refine summer school curricula and develop plans for faculty-student exchanges and collaboration initiatives.
