UIBE to strengthen cooperation with North American universities

Wang Jiaqiong, president of the University of International Business and Economics, met with delegations from the CETYS University of Mexico and the George Mason University of the United States respectively on Dec 7, 2017.

Wang introduced the UIBE’s latest developments on international exchanges and cooperation, as well as the university’s role in serving the country’s opening-up and reform endeavors to the visitors. 

 

He pointed out that, to support the Belt and Road Initiative and international education cooperation, the university is one of the first Chinese universities to set up a Latin America research center. 

 

He hopes the visit of Fernando León García, president of CETYS University, can promote bilateral cooperation and exchanges. García expressed a strong willingness to cooperate with the UIBE.

While meeting with David Burge, vice-president of George Mason University, Wang said GMU is an important partner of UIBE, and the bilateral cooperation has a good foundation. 

 

Wang hopes to further strengthen cooperation with GMU, particularly in student exchange and co-tutoring. 

 

Burge spoke highly of UIBE’s development of going global and hoped to initiate student exchanges and co-tutoring for postgraduate students with the UIBE.

 

The two sides talked further on concrete cooperation programs in the future. (Li Yang)
