The University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) welcomed the arrival of 2024 with an exhilarating New Year First Run, covering a distance of 20.24 miles within the campus.
Starting at 2:24 p.m. on the first day of the year, this symbolic event that was first held last year, garnered enthusiastic participation from over 300 students and faculty members.
In his opening remarks, Huang Baoyin, secretary of the CPC UIBE Committee, highlighted the UIBE tradition of the New Year First Run. He emphasized that this event not only marks the start of a new year but also serves as a way to embrace the fresh challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in 2024.
Li Junchen, a graduate student from the School of Government, won the first place with an impressive record of 38 minutes and 36 seconds.
